Spring 2010

1. Hot pants and boy shorts: Many recent fashion trends have pointed to it, and given the popularity of the likes of lingerie as outerwear it should really come as no surprise. Yes, hem lines continually become shorter as time marches on, but Spring 2010 may be the first season where hem lines can be predominantly measured in negative figures.

Honestly reminds me of granny-undies!

2. Knee high socks: In a year in which thigh high boots will be so prominent, this fashion trend should come as no surprise. Normally a humble accessory that most women hide, socks as a woman’s 2010 fashion trend will be at the fore. And whilst there will be several styles of socks popular in 2010, knee high socks (and similar styles) will be one of the defining looks to work into your wardrobe. Best of all, they’re trans seasonal and will be perfect alongside a number of other Winter 2010 and Spring 2010 fashion trends.

One of my personal favorites as I almost always sport this! I love the looks from MANGO.

3. Future warrior: Military fashion may have been big for some time now… but guess what? It’s evolving. Ancient warlords and kings have stormed the imagination of the fashion world, and elements of military history have been reinterpreted with a modern - often futuristic - twist. A little wilder, a little more fierce, the new military brings ancient civilizations and their warriors to life for this 2010 fashion trend.

This trend is so Lady Gaga/ Beyonce!

4. High dress splits: After several recurrent seasons of sexed-up micro minis - lead particularly by the va-va-voom styles of Herve Leger and Balmain - it’s time for a new wave of seductive skirts to find their way onto red carpets, into wardrobes, and, most definitely, into fashion magazine editorials. So how to do pure sex without a hemline that’s shorter than short? The high split 2010 fashion trend, of course.

This look is sported by one of the super fashion models, Abby Lee Kershaw.

5. Sporty wear: If she were a character, she’d be The Great Gatsby’s Jordan Baker; athletic, boyish, cynical, seductive. Golf or tennis are the flapper girl’s games, so in 2010 it’s preppy with a 1920s twist. Look no further than Hermes - with drop-waist pleated skirts and sports stripes in classic colors - for inspiration.

Would probably hit the gym with a football inspired outfit! :)

6. Boyfriend blazer: The boyfriend blazer has yet to reach the same levels of popularity as the two fashion trends which influenced it: boyfriend jeans and the boyfriend shirt. Which, for it, is a good thing. While the boyfriend shirt and denim trends have reached commonality and, thus, aren’t considered trends anymore, the boyfriend blazer has found new sophistication and will be with us as a part of 2010 fashion trends. In particular, we’ll see it amongst Spring 2010 fashion trends.

Watch out bff, I’m off to your closet! >:D
